~I've started wearing a "wedding" ring to ward off those Arab men who weren't socialized properly. So far, it hasn't made an ounce of difference in how they behave towards me.
~For a fall party that I hosted in late October, I made the cider cocktail featured on KAG's blog. I made it with ginger beer as she suggests and it was D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S. People are still telling me how yummy it was. We served it towards the end of the party when much of the wine and champagne had been depleted and the evening was getting cold. We heated ours on the stove beforehand and it was the perfect yummy and warm cocktail to pass around at a late hour.
~I promise I'll try not to whine too much on the blog about how much I miss "real fall," but I do want to tell you that I made apple cinnamon nutmeg pancakes recently and they were fantastic :).
~Speaking of apples, I'm sad that they are so expensive here! Did you know that the Middle East imports its apples from Washington and California? We used to get cheaper (& smaller) ones from Syria but those imports stopped recently due to the political situation there. Now our only options are the USA ones that are good, but expensive. I want to make baked apples but I'm not sure it's really worth it to pay that much for enough apples.
